The first thing I will say is that I am not taking any team’s under a certain number of wins. I am making these futures bets so that I can cheer for these teams to win. Vegas knows what they are doing with the W/L preseason bets so its rare to win one of these by more than a two games but I do think there are a few teams who Vegas got wrong.
If I was taking any team’s under, it would Alabama. I think there are a lot of question marks when it comes to receiver and who knows what Bryce Young will do when he is facing every team’s best defensive players all year. The defense will be as strong as it always is but a lot of things have to go your way for you to make a season sweep. I would bet against the undefeated season. One player I will be rooting for on the Crimson Tide is Kool-Aid McInstry, because how can you not root for someone with that kind of name (close second for DeColdest Crawford from LSU).
Liberty Over 9 Wins
Malik Willis has a lot to prove this year to in order to solidify himself as a first round pick in next year’s draft. He has a great 2020 campaign with 20 passing TDs and 14 TDs on the ground and if he can build on last year, scouts will be drooling over him early in the first round. The most attractive thing about Liberty is the amount of returning guys they have along with some key transfers coming in.
They play in a cupcake conference and don’t have the hardest out of conference schedule, so as long as Liberty can stay healthy, there is no doubt in my mind they surpass nine wins. The game I have marked on my calendar is November 6th when Hugh Freeze heads back to Oxford, MS to punish all those people who slandered his name after some horndog took his phone and called an escort service.
Most wins of any independent? Who knows.
TCU Over 7.5 Wins
10 returning starters on offense, 8 returning starts on defense, and an experienced quarterback. Any college football fan in a blind taste test would say they like their odds with this team. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Max Duggan is going to have some Heisman-type season but I do think he can get it done for the Horned Frogs and get them through some one score games.
TCU starts with four home games before finally playing a road game in Lubbock on October 2nd. Even with losses to OU, Iowa State, and one other (likely Texas or Oklahoma State), TCU still has more than 8 winnable games. I would bet they have 8 wins by the time the Jayhawks come to Fort Worth but worst case, that game should lock up the over on this bet.
If TCU can steal a win from OU, UT, or OSU, their final regular season game may be a Big 12 Championship play-in game in Ames. I’m not calling for this scenario but who knows, we might all be on the [Max] Dougie train by the end of the year.
Quick Picks
NC State Over 6.5 Wins
Illinois Over 3.5 Wins
All of these picks will likely come down to one game but I think each of these teams has the potential to pass their projection before going into their last game.

Love the positive vibes. Not saying I’m a negative vibes kinda guy… but if I were… Iowa State U9.5 regular season wins.
